Every time I turn around it seems like another senior dog parent is talking about dementia. I don’t think it’s more common than it used to be, it just seems between social media and FB groups more and more people are realising those unexplained behaviours are often signs of dementia. Hope Reno is well.

I actually never thought of my senior dog potentially having dementia. At times, my miniature Dachshund, Reno, tended to lose sight of me and he would act panicked until he found me in the house again. He was my little shadow and followed me everywhere.

Sounds like she’s fine, but in my experience and that of many many group members, vets aren’t always aware of dementia symptoms, and certainly not treatment options. You know you can always ask if you have any concerns!

Great post and was thinking the same lately with Layla being 12 and when walking she goes one direction and then suddenly stops and wants to go back from where we came and other little things but my vet says she is 100 percent healthy so am just keeping an eye on her.
